Al Ansaar Trust, recently helped set up computer labs in two government schools in South Bengaluru. The schools, namely Govt. Kannada Higher Primary School, Alahalli and Govt. Kannada Higher Primary school, Anjanapura, received the computer labs in the first week of March 2023.
The provision of computer labs in schools is a vital aspect of modern-day education. With technology advancing at a rapid pace, it is crucial for students to have access to computers to keep up with the times.
The Department of Public Instruction, Government of Karnataka, has identified 502 higher primary schools across the state and has released a total of ₹3212.80 lakhs under the ICT and Digital Initiatives Scheme.
Eash School will be provided with 10 desktops, 1 laptop, 1 projector, and a UPS. Additionally, ₹70000 per school is earmarked for infrastructure for the computer lab such as tables, chairs, electrical, flooring , etc;
Al Ansaar Trust had taken up the responsibility to provide a good computer lab for the government school in Alahalli, with the total cost estimated to be around ₹1.5 lakhs. Of this, ₹70000 will be provided by the government, while the remaining ₹80000 was contributed by the trust to finish the job.
The computer labs provided by the trust are equipped with the latest computers and software to provide students with an excellent learning experience. With these labs, students can learn computer skills, which will be useful for their future careers.
The provision of computer labs in schools is also an excellent way to bridge the digital divide in society. Many students from underprivileged backgrounds do not have access to computers at home, making it difficult for them to acquire computer skills. The Al Ansaar Trust has taken a significant step in helping these students bridge the gap and catch up with their peers.
